Join our team! Our employees are the most valuable asset we have. The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, inventiveness, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent that our employees invest in their work represents a significant part of not only our culture, but our reputation and KidsFirst’s achievement as well.
KidsFirst is always looking to grow our volunteers. We understand that the work we do, would not be possible without the vital support of our volunteers. Depending on the type of work you wish to be involved with, we offer flexible schedules to fit your needs. This is a perfect fit for students, retired individuals, or those just looking to serve their community. Do not hesitate, get involved today! We have several volunteer opportunities available, including, but not limited to the following:
Play and Grow Enrichment Assistants
Play and Grow Enrichment is an enriched “child care like setting” for the children of the parents attending a 112-week parenting class nearby. Children 18 months to 12 years old attend. A safe, learning environment reinforces what parents are learning in parenting classes.
Play & Grow Assistants help children learn:
How to effectively promote positive relations by complementing positive behavior
How to build children’s self-esteem and confidence through needed devotion and individual attention
How to build emotional and social competence through positive praise and coaching
How to increase social skills such as sharing, respect, patience, taking turns, etc.
How to use social rewards to strengthen positive behaviors
LEAP/LEAP Jr. Tutors
Volunteer tutors are positive role models who display care; understanding & good people (kid) skills. Volunteer tutors help the kids understand their school work, calling upon their own unique personal skills & creative insight to guide the kids through to a strong finish.
Administrative volunteers perform a variety of tasks including word-processing, data entry, creating spreadsheets, making phone calls, and research. In addition, we need help assisting with overflow work from administrative staff and fill in for the office receptionist as needed.
Event volunteers will assist in the planning and implementation of agency events. Event volunteers may be asked to sit on planning committees, assist with donation procurement, help with setup and breakdown, and represent the agency in the community by staffing vendor booths.

Furthermore, if you have a special skill or talent that you would like to share with our staff and/or clients, we would love to hear from you!
